MISSION STATEMENT
Life in the Son Christian Fellowship is a Christ-centered, Bible based church with a heart to passionately love Jesus Christ and to bring the islands of Micronesia and Asia-Pacific into the intimate knowledge of who He is.
We are committed to Church Planting, Campus Ministry, and World Missions through means of making disciples and training leaders. Our Vision is to plant a vibrant church on every Micronesian island with a commercial airstrip.
Our local multi-cultural congregation stewards a specific mission to the youth culture, college students, and families of Guam.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Life in the Son Christian Fellowship adheres to the infallibility of the Holy Scriptures and affirms all traditional doctrines of the Christian faith. We embrace the historic confessions of the Apostles', Nicene and Chalcedonian Creeds.
Although doctrinal purity is essential for the local church, we allow a diversity of thought over non-essential matters.
We hold firmly to these essentials:
The Bible We believe in the Scriptures, the infallible Word of God containing sixty-six books, as being fully inspired by God. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. (2 Tim. 3:16)
The Trinity We believe in one eternal God who has revealed Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable yet indivisible and of one substance. (Matt. 28:19)
Jesus Christ We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, true God and true man united in one Person. He suffered and died on the cross for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and was buried. He arose bodily from the dead and personally appeared to His disciples. Afterwards, He ascended to heaven, where He is now exalted above all else. (Lk. 1:26-35; Jn. 1:18; Is.7:14; 1 Cor.15:1-4; Jn.14:2-3)
The Holy Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit, who has come to glorify Christ, to convict people of sin and to draw us to the Savior, Jesus. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells God's children, gives new life, empowers believers for service, imparts spiritual gifts (as recorded in the NT and manifested in the early church), enables believers to live a fruitful, holy, and Spirit-filled life, and guides God's children into all truth. (Jn.16:8, 13-14; Jn.3:6; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22-24; Eph. 5:18; Jn.14:16-17,26)
Mankind We believe in the creation account, as recorded in Genesis, and in the test and fall of man. As a result of the fall, people remain spiritually depraved, separated from God, and unable to attain right-standing with God apart from Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5;12,18)
Salvation We believe that the salvation of sinful people is wholly dependent upon the work of God's free grace. Salvation is manifested through our repentance, plus faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross. Through His work, not our own, we obtain the remission of sins and become God's children; heirs of eternal life. (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:1,9,11)
Baptism We believe in water baptism (a "believer's" baptism) in order to fulfill the command of Christ. We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience at or subsequent to salvation and evidenced by various signs. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:39, 4:31, 8:14-17, 10:44-46; 19:1-6)
The Church We believe in one true universal Church consisting of genuine believers and in the visible expression of that church in local congregations. Local churches are under the Headship of Jesus and governed by elders. These churches are commissioned by Jesus to propagate the gospel, administer the sacraments (baptism and communion), exercise scriptural discipline, and administer all its local works. (Matt. 16:18, 18:15-20;Acts 15:22)
The Second Coming We believe in the second coming of Christ (physical and visible) to judge the living and the dead, receive His Church, and to consummate human history in the plan of God. (1Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 22:12;Eph. 1:10)
Eternity We believe in eternal life for all true believers and eternal judgment for the lost, Satan, and all fallen angels. (Jn.3;16;5:24; 2 Thes.1:8-9; Rev. 20:10-15)

DISTINCTIVES
If you were to take a closer look at the nation of Israel as revealed in scripture, you will see that God considered Israel as one big family or nation and also as12 sub-families, called tribes.
The members of the tribes had both a national identity as citizens of Israel, and a tribal identity as members of their tribe. Each tribe's uniqueness, emphasis, and size were different, yet totally necessary in the formation of the nation. For example the tribe of Levites had the unique responsibility of the Priesthood.
Likewise the families of believers that make up God's church today have a similar dual identity. All legitimate churches corporately form the "body of Christ". Individual churches like the tribes of Israel have their own uniqueness, emphasis, and size, but all are totally necessary in the formation of Christ body.
The "tribe" of Life in the Son Christian Fellowship is characterized by the following ten distinctives that give greater definition of who we are:
1. PASSION.....................Fervent Love for God (Mark 12:28-30) 2. PURITY.........................Holiness of heart (I Peter 1:15-16) 3. PRAYER......................Intercession in all of its forms (Ephesians 6:18) 4. POWER.......................The demonstration acts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 4:20) 5. PRESENCE................The assurance of God (Exodus 33:14-16) 6. PROPHETIC...............The voice of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) 7. PRAISE........................Our access to God (Psalm 100:4) 8. PROMISES.................The Word of God (II Peter 1:3-4) 9. PEOPLE......................Those inside and outside of the church (John 3:16 and I John 3:16) 10. PURPOSE..................Micronesia and beyond (Matthew 28:18-20)
