How to Receive Jesus

THE GOOD NEWS

It’s called: THE GOSPEL.

“The Gospel is the Good News that God became man in Jesus Christ. He lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died – in our place. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving He is the Son of God and offering the gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him.” – Dr Rice Broocks

One of the foremost Bible authors wrote this letter to the new believers in Rome: “… if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Romans 10:9,10

So now, pray this prayer to be saved:

“Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that the separation between us is because of my sin.

I confess that I have sinned and have fallen far short of Your glory.

I thank You that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for my sin. I believe that He died on the cross for me. I believe that You raised Him from the dead.

I am sorry for my sins and I ask You to forgive and cleanse me.

I want to turn away from everything the Bible calls sin and receive You as my Lord, Master, and Savior.

Help me to love, serve, and obey You for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!“

We celebrate this decision, and this prayer, that you’ve made today!

Now, to start following the teaching of Jesus, here’s how to:

START:

S: Stop trusting in yourself and your own good works, and start trusting in Christ alone for salvation.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8,9

T: Turn away from everything the Bible calls sin.

But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
2 Timothy 2:19

A: Find and attend a good church & small group for weekly worship services and personal discipleship.

… not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:25

R: Read and obey your Bible every day.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8

T: Tell others about your new relationship with Christ.

And he did not permit him but (Jesus) said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.
Mark 5:19,20
